The climbing hold company holding
grips reached out to me, to develop
a design for their new hold
collection "blades". It was meant
as an eye-catcher for a trade fair.
Afterwards it got lent to multiple
boulder gyms around Germany, as well
as for the Hesse championship in
Darmstadt.
My design is inspired by topographic
maps. In the beginning I traced the
map of the location from the production
facility. I morphed this form into
multiple variations fitting the different
shapes of the holds.
I was able to create
a connection between the home location
of the company and the climbing
sport itself through the shapes.
